Molly was raised and born in Pennsylvania. She began her professional stage career at the age of 13 in Philadelphia's Prince Music Theater. She was then nominated as one of the Barrymore Award nominee for her role of Little Red Ridinghood at the Arden Theater's production Into the Woods. She went on to reprise her role as Little Red Ridinghood when she made her Broadway debut at age 15 with Into the Woods on Broadway in 2002. In the same year, she was nominated for the Drama League Award. Molly played the role in the Broadway revival of Fiddler on the Roof (2004). After that, she went to Princeton University and was a member of Princeton's Triangle Club. She graduated with a bachelor's degree the year 2008. In 2008, she graduated with the degree of B.A. During that time she appeared in a film for the first time, Disney in the film College Road Trip as Wendy Greenhut. Molly started her acting career following graduating with Off-Broadway performances, including End Days and The Wonderful Maladys on HBO Pilot. Molly was a major part in a variety of regional plays, including The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee with the Barrington Stage Company and North Shore Music Theatre in the year 2008 as well as Westport Country Playhouse s 2010 production of The Diary of Anne Frank in which she played Anne.
