Anna Gunn

Anna Gunn, an American actor from the United States. Her most well-known character is Skyler White on the AMC series Breaking Bad, for which she received the Primetime Emmy Award in 2013 and 2014. Both awards were for Outstanding Supporting Actress for a Drama Series. The actress has also appeared as Jean Ward in The Practice as well as Martha Bullock in Deadwood. Anna Gunn was born in Sante Fe New Mexico, in the year 1968. She fell in love acting at Preparatory school before moving to Ohio and her family in later in the 1970s. She studied theatre at Northwestern University and spent a period studying at the British American Drama Academy. Anna was employed in the theatre industry in the Chicago area for several years before trying her hand at television and films. Anna's first big role was Arden, in Down the Shore. She played in 29 episodes. Following her appearance as a Guest Star in several TV Shows and Films, including Seinfeld and NYPD Blue in the 1990's and was later cast as Jean Ward as part of The Practice. The role was played by Martha Bullock in Deadwood for two seasons in the late 2000s. The show was recast as Skyler in Breaking Bad as Skyler, in 2008. Sully as well as Deadwood were also part of her oeuvre. Gunn has also appeared on the stage in the David Schwimmer-directed production of Sex With Strangers. Gunn also appeared in the show Numbered Day, which is a podcast comprised of four audio dramas. Breaking Bad is often built around the relationship between Walter White and the wife of his character, Skyler. The strained relationship as well as their final break-up mirror the sad end of Walter White.
