Uma Karuna Thurman was an American actress best known for portraying 'Mia Wallace," in the dark comedy movie "Pulpfiction." She became an Hollywood A-list star because of her performance in Pulp Fiction. She is an actor with enthusiasm for acting, and does not have a problem getting rid of her glamourous past. Her unglamorous role in the 'Kill Bill' movie series won her awards and recognition. She was born into an unorthodox family with an Indian-sounding name. The lanky girl, who was mocked due to her big legs and bulging body when she grew older was slim in her frame. Although she's now well-known for her stunning beauty however, there was a time when she was highly insecure about her appearance and body. In high school, she found pleasure in acting and actively participated in the drama. When she decided that acting was the path she wanted to take, she left school when she was 15 in order to focus on an acting career. Prior to landing her first film role she earned her money by washing dishes and doing modeling. The big breakthrough for her came in 1994, when she starred in the movie "Pulp Fiction.' It was after that she received acclaim for her character in the Kill Bill movie series.
